Hi,
I haven't seen much interest expressed for building a Java EE 7
implementation of Geronimo. It does seem that we can expect the community
will be providing components useful for Java EE 7 servers (e.g. specs,
javamail, xbean, connectors, etc).

Others may have their own opinions on this...

Hi Kevan,

We eventually have interest on the components you mentioned but to add then
into TomEE 2.x.

Hi,

Does this mean that Geronimo is slowly dying / being discontinued?

Historically its about a year or so between released. 3.0.1 was pushed in
2012. The svn trunk looks like it hasn't been updated in a while, and there
aren't any new branches either

Well, like I mentioned most of Geronimo components (specs, xbean, etc) are
used in many apache projects like TomEE, OpenWebBeans, servicemix, karaf,
and others.
Geronimo EE implementations are also still alive and working (like
OpenWebBeans, CXF, Bean Validation and others) on TomEE for example.

But it looks like yes, the Geronimo project has been slowing down since
last year.

Dying? depends on the community and how much effort it can put on keeping
the project alive.
So if you want it to stay alive, join the force to contribute if possible.

Depending on what you are looking for, you can give it a try to TomEE for
example.
